Day 4 with detail
Picture
Tread, a steel framed canvas supporting soil, changes with climate, gravity and time. Cascading ripples of soil create a performance art for the viewer. After four days, laced details of soil cling to their base and reveal the movements by the artist to secure the soil with glue.
"Garon employs decaying natural artifacts primarily as symbols of humanity's fragility. But her contrasts of hard and soft intrigue the eye as well as the mind." -Mark Jenkins, The Washington Post
